What is a tutor?

Tutors are undergraduate students, trained in best practices to help with one to one tutoring for  100 and 200 level Core Curriculum Courses. Tutors must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above. They must have earned an "A" in the courses they tutor. Tutors set up their own schedules in the LIB710 Tutoring Center. All tutoring appointments are held in LIB710  during the center's open hours, Monday through Thursday, 10am to 7pm and Fridays from 10am to 4pm.

What is an academic coach?

Academic coaches are undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Academic Coaches are trained to help students become more self-regulated learners. They provide their client with a more holistic approach to organizing their coursework, and shape and reinforce positive academic behaviors. They  work to help build such behaviors as using a planner, consulting the syllabus, reviewing class notes, creating study checklists, and organizing class materials to keep on task meeting their academic goals. Academic Coaching appointments are always held in the LIB710 Tutoring Center. Coaches are responsible for their own schedules, meeting during the regular hours of Monday - Thursday from 10am to 7pm and Friday from 10am to 4pm.
